No we shouldn't- we should leave them alone and if they ever give us grief we should nuke them....that way when they torture their own people, keep them ignorant of the world without a free press, blame all of their poverty on the US to deflect the corrpution and stupidity within their governments, and keep their economy the way it was 2000 years ago...no bleeding heart freaks can actually blame the US. It would mean that we would have to virtually eliminate oil in our economy...but oh god would it be worth it...just let them all kill themselves and blow themselves up to kill each other instead of us. I recognize that their are many good individuals over there and that is awfully sad...however do I believe that the whole world and especially our country (US) be destroyed because of a pathetic backwards culture? NO.
As far as what our federal government is doing...it is stupid to think we can help these people...they share NO values of freedom and individual liberty...NONE...so the only reason we are there is to protect oil and try to build goodwill in the region by making a little US. 10 years from now...when it is even more obvious that we went wrong here...I can only hope that oil is insignificant in the world and these countries will have nothing to sell and will go back even further into the stonage. Sounds a little hostile I guess but I am tired of people telling me to respect such a moronic culture.

There's quite a significant difference between taking over and nuking. Nuking means everyone dies there and lot of fall out blowing around the World.
More importantly, it means you cannot steal all the oil from there cause the pipelines would get blown up and you couldn't go there to repair them. No, nuking is no good, you might as well just leave the area alone would be a lot cheaper and environmentally intelligent and the end result would be the same.
As for taking over, well, how about starting with Iraq? Or even Afghanistan? If you can't even manage 2 countries then the whole of the middle east might be tricky...

Why stop there when we could rule the world...moohoohahaha. But seriously folks. With the shape the environment is in a few more nukes would probably kill half the world and make the other half really sick. The end times evangelicals probably have wet dreams about it though.

When has it ever been stated that we are there to take over the middle east? If we had wanted to take over a country, do you think it would actually take this long? Get real here folks.

omg no! take them over? of course not!
we are in the middle east at the moment to help them with governmet issues, famines, racial and sexist social status, and technology. it may seem like we're "taking them over" but in reality, we're there ti re-do their ways all together so that maybe, just maybe, the countries won't be corrupt and there won't be such a high death percentage.
we're not taking them over, we're helping them so eventually they'll be self-ruling and a lot better in a couple of years.
