that could vary HUGELY depending on lifestyle.. (different parts of the country can have different levels of cost of living too) on a tight budget you could probably get away with under $500 for utilities food, and misc general spending.
i'm not trying to give an average, because i have no idea what average is. i'm just telling you what i think is about the minimum required.

Your total expenses for housing (mortgage payment, taxes and insurance) should not exceed 42% of your gross income. So, if your income is $4000 a month, 42% is $1680. The rest of the money, $2320 is left over for food, utilities, entertainment, etc. This is a guidline and not written in stone, but it works good and its what mortgage lenders use to evaluate how much house a family or person can afford.

I hope this helps, good luck!

we've a family members of 7 and spend approximately +/- $a hundred seventy five weekly, yet then no longer all of us eats at domicile each night. And we are in all probability to order out as quickly as each week, too. 2 of the 7 are 21+ and consume out extra beneficial than they consume in and in no way consume breakfast so a procedures as i can tell. food in basic terms keeps getting further and further high priced. Milk's been on the upward thrust those days and the cost of meat in basic terms kills me from time to time!
