Yep. They used every ounce of payload capacity to bring rocks back. Not to haul an old moonbuggy. It wouldn't have fit inside the Apollo capsule too well anyhow.

This is like the can you see the stuff left behind from earth.... What about all the satellites they keep sending up to the moon for mapping and so on, some great pictures came out of the mars lunar rover today taken from an orbiting satellite, surely they have good enough resolution to see now ! I wonder what sort of things the astronauts left up there on purpose ! like personal things ??

Yes, I heard that it ran out of petrol and they could not get it back to the luna module.
Word is that on nasa's recently announced 'return' trip to the moon they will be packing some 4 star. However the project has been significantly delayed as they are trying to find some leaded petrol.

Yes!!! It was all a big joke around the NASA headquarters back in the day. See, they never actually paid it off!!! So when the repo man came to get it, they just told him to go ahead and take it, but it was on the moon. HaHaHa Score: NASA-1, Repo Man-0

It's still there and is going to be there forever. They couldn't bring it back with all the added weight from the stuff they collected off the moon.
