Yes, By God we Are a Bunch Of Egotistical,Greedy, Power Grubbing Freaks Who are Very Fastly Creating a Path Of Destruction, Devastation, and Mass Genocide Upon Other Creatures That Must Share This Blue and Grey Rock we Call The Earth... Humans are not the only species that have the ability to think. That function is shared by numerous other members of the animal kingdom. Nor can we claim to be the only animals capable of abstract thought. Lab rats and mice have been able to figure out puzzles and learn sequences, and have demonstrated reasoning powers.
The unique thing about humans is that we have been able to change the environment to suit ourselves. Other species do it in small ways, but mankind has taken proprietry ownership of the earth and made massive changes. It's hard to say if this was in the general plan when earth was put together, but whether we are supposed to be here or not, we are, and that is an immutable fact. So what we have to concentrate on now, is learning to become better shepherds of the earth and reduce our impact. A tall order, but it is something to aim for.

Yes, we are the freaks on planet earth.
Nope, chimps, dolphins, elephants, parrots, even dogs and cats think too. Not as deeply as we human do, but they do think. All pet owners could confirm this.
All living organisms to some extend pollute by dumping their waste into their living environment, but we consume so much that we could not effectively handle the waste. Do to our non thinking I must add.
We are not in "equilibrium" with our environment, may be that is the cause of our wars.
Yes, we are suppose to be here much like the dinosaurs was. The more important question is: Are we here to stay?

Yes. It's ironic isn't it that the only creatures (apparently) blessed with the gift of thought are thoughtless enough to destroy the planet?...Other creatures, acting on instinct, take only what they need, in balance with nature. Because we are able to think, we endlessly invent new ways to take more & more from the earth, upsetting nature's balance. Technology, progress, urbanization wind up destroying the environment. Humans may be freaks, liabilities, anomalies but yes we're supposed to be here. God put us here (or if you're an atheist, then we evolved to be here or whatever you happen to believe...) Hopefully we can respect the planet enough not to ravage her & deplete her resources completely. Earth will have its revenge if we don't. Nature & the elements don't think, but they do react. We must not upset the balance of nature, or we pay the price.

Actually, we are not the only species destroying the environment. Any number of insects do such. Sheep graze the grass down to their own destruction which is why they must be herded as nomads. etc.
Are we supposed to be here? No. By now we are supposed to be much more civilized, advanced, and caring.

Downfall as a species?!?!? What downfall??? we are between the main useful species ever! as far as being a parasite, you may say a similar ingredient approximately the different creature that consumes supplies. people *are* a organic reason. stay with it! there are a number of species for the duration of historic past that have so befouled their own nest that they went the way of the dodo. in spite of the undeniable fact that, it is authentic that because of the fact of our vast brains we've discovered some somewhat cleaver and insidious hassle-free strategies to electrify our ecosystem. luckily, we've the means to renowned this and maximum remarkable those behaviors. this is referred to as "innovation". So... somewhat of whining approximately how evil people are, how approximately interpreting complicated, going to an institute of better studying and getting a level in chemistry, engineering, biology, or another possibly field and make a contribution to getting to renowned better techniques of doing issues!

worldwide domination has brought us to global suicide. What's so freakish about that, its the way of things. Logic, rationality and ability to think put us on top of the food chain. To ask "are we supposed to be here" implies that there's some pre-ordained plan or order to the universe. The only observable order is spelled out in the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, the irreversible trend toward disorder....sorry.

I believe other animals can think. But humans are the only creatures which can THINK about the fact that they are THINKING, and even define the notion of "thought."
We are not destroying the planet. Humans have been here for a million years - if we were going to destroy the planet, don't you think we would have done it by now?

Life is a test. more advanced civilizations are watching us from the stars waiting to see if we ever grow up and start to improve the things that are wrong in this world. Its up to each of us to make our own little piece of this planet a better place to live. I dont believe anyone else will destroy us but rather we will destroy ourselves and have failed. The more advanced humans who actually try to improve themselves will be saved.

You have the confusion and cynicism of the young and naive. I am 64 years old. The earth has been getting cleaner and cleaner since I was a kid. Yet, as it gets cleaner, the environmental wackoes scream louder and louder that we are destroying it.
None of you have actually seen the places that are damaged. Between the lying journalists and your school teachers, they have brainwashed you into believing doom is nigh. If you actually travel around the world, you can see it is getting cleaner.
Well, no, I guess you can't, because you aren't old enough to remember how bad it used to be.
Have you ever been outside the metropolitan areas, to see hundreds of miles of beautiful outdoors? Clean outdoors?
Yeah, your city is a cesspool, but most of the country is really clean. Please stop your naive whining.
