If English futbol is like World Cup soccer, than American football is clearly more "hardcore." Some of those World Cup players would fall down if an opponent breathed on them to try to draw a foul. That is just weak.

Definitely American football. How would you like to get run over by a 6'4" 300lb. tank? The padding is needed! Before players had that there were those who actually died. By the way, you don't see players faking injuries. Also, fans don't turn into murderers and have riots if their team loses. American football for the most part has a family atmosphere, especially college football. For example, you won't find better fans or a better atmosphere than in the Husker's Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska.

I think the hits in American Football are more hardcore. The funny thing is that if you wnat to talk about hardcaore injuries, English Futbol is the answer. Both sports are difficult to play in their own rights.

American Football is! Sure they get to wear padding but they need to! Those men can weigh up to 250 lbs and with many of those men on top of a player and getting thrown around, soccer does NOT compare.

Are you kidding me!!?? American football is way more hardcore then soccer. All you have to do is look at a highlight film of both sports on the hardest hits and you will see. And they wear pads because they need to. Going on the feild without armor is suicide.

Soccer. No padding, easier for players to get hurt, and the fans are crazier.
