Yes and No. The main purposes of the UN is peacekeeping and humanitarian efforts. This could be a great organization, but the people in power will never stop their corrupt ways. We (as a global community) need to find a way to keep the "superpowers" of the world from controling matters. It is not fair that countries such as Russia, the United States, and China have more of a say than a third world country. Countries like our own use humanitarian efforts to strip mine the natural resources of lesser nations. They did it in the Congo, they are doing it in the middle east and they will continue to do so if there is no intervention.

It's a shame that an organization that is supposed to stand for the "good of the people", in most cases, does the most harm.

We should evict the United League of Nations and let them move to some second rate third world country. I hope they don't left us know where the went! Those crooks even steal from kids! Do not give to "Trick or Treat for UNICEF"! That is worse than the oil for food scandal! Why should we care what those lightweights think? We fund 25% of their budget! Let them go and find a deal as sweet as the one they have in New York City!! What a failure!!

Did you make a typo? Surely you meant to say the US.
How can you accuse the whole world of being corrupt. The United Nations represents the world.
Put your mind in gear before putting your fingers on the keyboard.

Typical Republican viewpoint. If the USA would have used the U.N. in Iraq, like they were suppose to, the good old USA would not be there today. But just look at who is paying the price right now in Iraq. So what country is the foolish one?

Yes let's get rid of it and just admit that the US is running the World, Bush has defied international law (let's not even get started on the geneva convention) and laughed in the face of Kofi Annan so what's the point anyway?

And while we're at it, why not declare Bush emperor of the Universe and nuke anyone who disagrees? There's no real democracy anyway, just rich people doing whatever they want.

And to think that some idiots on here want a "5 million man standing army" and hand United States sovereignty over to a global entity. Theyre reallll patriots.
