Are you using a surge protector between your pc and the electric wall socket? They help prevent this kind of thing. The electricity supply is not constant, it fluctuates and a power surge can do this.
Also, when was the pc last cleaned inside the case? Dust builds up and can short circuit, as can furniture polish.
If the pc is still under warranty you can send it back and have it fixed.
If its not then its either old or neglected.
Theres nothing you could have done to cause this, its just failed; t.v.'s break, so do pc's. Show this to your Dad if he's not convinced.

For your next PC get a Belkin surge protector, with the modem protection socket. This protects against lightning strikes on the phone line which will fry your motherboard and modem. They're about £10.

How old is this computer?? If it is still under warranty take it back and have it repaired. Your CPU got fried somehow. It was probably heat related. If this was an older computer, then a layer of dust could have built up and added more heat to the unit. It is a good idea to open the computer once in a while and blow things out using canned air. Sorry about your "whooppin", but electronics are unpredictable.

verify to work out if the 4pin connector from the ability grant is plugged in next to the CPU (2x yellow wires and 2 X black wires) or you in all probability did no longer take care of it precise and the static discharge could desire to've killed it. if so replace the cpu

Means your processor is gone. Its nothing you could of done on the web. Eather it was overclocked too much or the power supply had a surge and over clocked the processor or it just went out from over heating. If there is a trouble shoot code you should post it and I will be able to tell you the exact problem

tell us what you used the computer for. besides surf porn. maybe that way we can tell you what you did wrong. I highly doubt the computer just, "all of a sudden" had a cpu problem.
