Why are we voting pedophiles into our government?

Now that I think about it...it explains why the laws are easy on kiddie rapers...the people that made the laws are doing the same thing.....What a country!!!!

Well, if the public knew he was a pedophile to begin with, I highly doubt he would have ever gotten in office

Because pedophiles, those who are regressed or are just lazy, are often seen as perfect family man and father, volunteers as Boy Scout Leader or other programs that deal with children, and often claim they are working to pass laws to make it harder for pedophiles, like Foley, who was going after Paige's!

Pedophiles head for where the children are!! Some even marry to get access to their wives children!

The other issue is their volunteerism is seen by a know nothing court system, including juries, as positive! Most are never charged, and the 5% that are, many don't go to jail or are given prison terms from 3 to 5 years!

You can catch peophiles but most have had 100 or so victims by the first time they are caught! Usually small kids make poor witnesses because of cognitive limitations! Many victims are not only not believed, their punishment is to be chastized by the non-offending spouse if in the family, and most are! Look at Foley, the Republican leaders knew about it for years and did nothing!

Schools make deals with teachers, who resign and nothing is said or reported about thae abuse! Camps are the same way! The Catholics covered theirs up for decades! Only 5 percent or so are charged as an adult court! Adult Courts are no place to deal with a child! Pedophiles have a long history, but it is ignored, or covered up!

I'd like to say it is because no one that votes knew he was a pedophile. That is not true because I see too many people's questions and answers on this site that I do not think they would care, one way or the other and also I see where other elected officials are caught committing felonies and very bad criminal acts and their colleagues allow them to escape with little or no punishment. I think this country is getting farther and farther away from God and our values are becoming non-existent.

Your making a huge leap of thought, to imply that the sins of one man in a body of 435; some how equals us voting pedophiles, gays, tax cheats, or cop beaters into office. They are a small blip in the population at large and congress. Ditch the hyperbole....

You choose them....it is not a self-election policy. It is the responsibility of the citizens to know their candidates, so when pedophilia, corruption, theft, philandering, drugs pop up, don't you believe that the citizens should share some of the responsibility for poor choice. But perversion is not unique to America, i.e. Alexander the Great, Nero, Da Vinci, Caravaggio, Catherine the Great of Russia (she was into bestiality and was killed when the sling of her horse broke) and it has been rumored that Abe Lincoln was gay too.

You can't know if someone is a pedophile until they're caught. Obviously, he wouldn't have been elected if everyone knew about his "hobby".
