it broke the skin,and she has alittle bruising.

no i wouldnt worry about it too much but it really depends on how well you take care of your turtle and how well you clean the habitat. salmonella is really only a problem in dirty cages, peole give there reptiles kisses all the time and dont have problems. aquatic turtles are by far the worst for salmonella

Salmonella is pretty rare in land and box turtles- it is mostly a concern with animals living in water with their own fecal materials in it.

Treat it like any other minor injury and clean it well. (Remember, however, that peroxide is NOT a recommended treatment for most wounds since it kills healthy cells that promote healing.)

Yes, because in all reptiles samonella can be found in the mouth and feces (poop). if she has been bitten you might immediately wash it out good with soap and put some anti-biotic ointment for faster healing but if swealing occurs then contact a doctor. also you can learn more about it by going to

Get her to have a tet toxoid shot if she hasn't had one, ice could have reduced swelling and bleeding

Try some peroxide and ceck Webmd. on line if you can't call your doctor's office...Don't take any chances....Good luck!

not unless she ate his poop. use peroxide. i would worry about other infections
