As a general rule when they fail, you will experience flat spots while driving, and then usually only the lower operating positions (< 1/3 throttle). Occasionally the "Check Engine" light will come on.

Usually you get little or no throttle response and the vehicle will not idle properly or may even keep stalling.

I had an s-10 that would run fine and then just stall out of no where from time to time then i replaced the t.p.s. and it never happened agin.

you'll have printed each and every and all of the codes here yet no on the TPS inflicting the tranny to set codes till at last they have been some form of now delayed shifting sort deal yet I extremely have had diverse autos are attainable with TPS code & by using no means effect the transmission nor set any codes for it
