Hi I own a 2001 Forester. It is a 4 cylinder. It is driven in the city pretty much exclusively (unfortunately). It gets about 22 mpg with the 2 mile drive to work. "Good" gas mileage is subjective. If you can afford it, then it's good -- if you can't, it doesn't matter what your gas mileage is, that will be "bad" gas mileage. By the way, love our Subaru, they last forever. It will be bestowed on my daughter when she grows up!

sounds right for the awd 2.5 litre engine, Is it auto or stick. Keep it maintained oil changes and tuned up and the fuel economy should improve slightly. Easy on the gas.

Sounds like my '06 Outback 2.5i. My city mileage may be lower, but I only drive 1.6 miles to work...

it's not bad for a 2.5 Liter engine, also it's an AWD car, so they tend to be a little lower on mpg that other cars.
