I love physics because I am curious about the universe in its role as the world around me. I have always enjoyed looking at the stars, and it never ceases to amaze me how much we can find out from so little. I have an obsession with the question "Why?" and I have found that physics is the most direct answer to it when applied to how the world works. I'm driven by a sense of wonder which is expanded, not dimished, by knowing the details of the universe.

At a more applied level, while physics problems can be difficult (*really*,*really* difficult), I also like the satisfaction of solving them. Additionally, the frustration in doing a problem is more than balanced out by a determination to follow through on what I've started. And, of course, the more frustrating the problem, the more satisfying the solution.
