Derived from the acronym SABR (society of american baseball research) is the statistical analysis of baseball through statistics.

The man dubbed as the "Father of baseball statistics", was a gentleman by the name of Bill James, who is from Kansas. He wrote the first mainstream book on baseball stats known as the "Bill James Baseball Abstract", starting in 1977 and become the foundation on what we now call SABRmetrics.
