MASTITIS
Mastitis means that the breast is inflamed, and there is swelling, redness, tenderness and pain. There may be an infection, so it is wise to consult your health-care provider to determine whether or not an antibiotic is necessary. A breast infection can become a breast abscess that requires surgical draining, but this can almost always be prevented by treating mastitis promptly.
But still go and see your own GP

depends where the pain is coming from, is it from the lump or inside your chest? Its best to get any lumps checked out just to be on the safeside. there are home kits that you can buy to examine your breasts properly, i have seen them in Homebargains (i don't know if u have heard of this shop) but there only 99p

I would hope that's it's just growing pains, women can have them up until they're around 25ish.
failing that I would suggest see a doctor. a check-up is free and will erase any worries you have. Always be on the safe side.

There could be many reasons why this is occuring, most likely I'd say consult your OB/GYN. Two most common could be...
1) Over-active thyroid, which will pump too much estrogen in your system causing you to ovulate more often.
2) Pregnancy.

Maybe you are about to start your period. Sometimes breast get really really swollen and painfully tender right before a woman starts her period, but it will go away on its own soon.
The best time to check for lumps is after your period, if you are still experiencing these problems after your period, something may be wrong.

Go immediately and get checked, but to put your mind at rest cancer rarely hurts, like you describe.
