First of all how long have you worked at this job or any job. For social security disability it is a long process and if the injury is expected to get better they will not give you social security. Does your company have a human resources department they should be able to assist you with filing a workman's comp claim. Save any paperwork you get from your doctors for your claim. I am not sure what the rules are for workman's comp. Also did you by any chance get signed up at work for short term disability if you did they can help with the lack of money. You may be able to get a free consultation with an experienced lawyer who handles workman's comp, type cases. See if your area has a Legal Aid Society they may have lawyers who help for little or no cost to you.
