voters are clearly disgusted. removing money out of the political process is the only solution. if we can blow $500 billion in iraq, we can certainly afford to finance elections using gov money giving equal expose to all parties......i know the politicians would fight it,,,,,,here's the kicker, they work for us, vote em out if they dont support it.

Money is not the problem. It's the source of it. When corporations, unions and other special interests give money, they are buying access.

My rules would be simple.
1. Any individual person can give as much as they want, to any politician's campaign. Not tax deductible.

2. Any special interest group may also pool individuals money, and give to a politician's campaign that they back. That money must be strictly from individual people in the forms of contributions. No union dues or payroll deductions. The person must actually cut a check to that group. This would be for groups like the NRA or Sierra Club or MADD or whatever.

3. All political contributions must be reported on a searchable web site within 24 hours for each politician's campaign. Name of person or group, city, state and amount must be revealed. Any special interest group must keep a searchable web site for it's donors.

4. No other business, or entity may give their money to a campaign, or have it funneled through a special interest group to a campaign. These groups may not buy any political ads either.

Because Americans don't make the decisions anymore. Regardless of your faith in the American constitution, the elections are now operated by machine and influence. Even if the counts were accurate and the polling authorities allowed everyone to vote, the candidates which make it through the media gauntlet are always the ones which the advertisers want to follow the marketing plan for USA, Inc.
We can't vote the bums OUT until we stop paying the corporations to keep them IN.
If you want change, keep it in your pocket. Buy less, buy local, buy only what you need. Your dollar is your vote and your life's work, and the machines don't count.

Money is power. And it's very sad.

Blowing 500 billion in Iraq was rediculous too.

Don't count your votes until after the election.Since 1980 the polls have been wrong.
