Being a dancer I instantly thought of the splits as in dancing and movement. If that is what you mean, continual stretching exercises will elongate the inner thigh muscles so you can do the splits.

Then I thought again and I thought maybe she means split ends as in hair so blow drying, abuse of your hair, drying products, improper shampoos and conditioner or maybe not using any, straighteners and perms and sun damage, etc.
