I just can't answer this question. But, to quote a Monty Python movie, "Run away, run away....". Oh, and "why didn't someone tell me my *** was so big?"

Okay, well, which Mel Brooks movie? Young Frankenstein, History of the World, Part 2, Space Balls, Blazin' Saddles?
I mean, Young Frankenstein and Blazin Saddles, both starring Gene Wilder in the lead, were funny as hell!
Monty Python had two: The Life of Brian and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The latter one, to me, was funnier then the first one.
the British are great but, Mel Brooks and the Blazin Saddles and Young Frakenstein are, to me, a little bit better then the monty python films.

Monty Pyton films are way better, although one of them offended the Catholic church, they are seriously hilarious and almost everybody knows Monty Pyton, plus, even though their sketch show came out in the 60's and the films came out in the mid 70s to early 80s, it will be around for a lot longer than other films and sketch shows, what Monty Python did was set the foundation blocks for modern day comedy!

Monty Python by a longshot. Mel Brooks movies are a little too Broadway, and he NEVER would have come up with the French Taunter..."I fart in your general direction...."

While I love Python as much as anybody... I have to go with Mel Brooks. In particular: Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, and Space Balls.

Mel Brooks is closer to slapstick, and his humor is more reactionary. Monty Python's humor is drier, and more intellectual.
