A trip to find one's self and live off of her own resources. Documented in stories of the people she meets, lessons learned and illustrated by photography. (Note that this is to be a long term project/adventure. Anywhere from 6 months to 2 years...however long it takes.)
I've already asked this question (perhaps a little differently) but would like as many answers as possible. Thanks for your input. Also if you would like to be a part of this adventure by: person she meets, a traveling companion, or in helping to document this in any way, leave notice with your answer or e-mail me at: chance_ghost@yahoo.com

Crazy-cool! I'd love to have done something like this, but I'm married with children and now I have a job and school....

Sounds exciting! You could keep an online blog mapping out where you finished up at each day. (Blog for the previous day after leaving the place, or you could blog it right then.) Get publicity for it and then people will expect you, and you'll be in less danger.

I'd love to help you maintain a website or promote it with banners and links and stuff, if you run a blog or something.

Awesome!

Sounds cool. I would LOVE to bike across country, but I have a family now.

But like others said, not alone and pack some heat. There are a lot of bad people here in America.

Hi Chance, You really have a big set of steal balls. I think the whole thing is great. A great way of adventure, learning and finding out about people on your way across.I would love to be one of the ones who go's with you. But physically i cannot. I had a total knee replacement in 2001,my knee would not make it even a third of the way.I just had surgery on my shoulder and i can't use it. I would go,if the body was in better shape. It's a deal of a life time. i'm sure you will have many offers to go with you. Have a safe and fun journey. A Friend... Clowmy

Three words:

Make a List

List what will be, what COULD happen, what will happen.

Document a Living Will and a Will.

Journal as much as you can ONLINE. If anything does happen ,it can be tracked.

Create a safe word to tell that trustworthy someone or write it down when you are in serious trouble...

Best of Luck!

Many people have done this before. They write about their travels, even appeared on tv talk shows. What did they find? People are the same EVERYWHERE. And it takes a terrible toll on the human body. When they get older, they are a physical wreck. I do not recommend it. Too many have done it in the past. NO ONE remembers them afterwards.

I did that for most of one summer, back in 1980, when I was just a young guy. It was great! Best of luck to you, but I do suggest you know a few self defense techniques.

i would if i'm you cause it will make you to be a different person, a better one cause we only live our life once and there are lots to experience and learn from peoples' live and cultures in difference perspective. if that's your goal and dreams in life to be fulfill why not fulfill it and don't live to regret. we can't bring our richness into our graves but memories, happiness and experiences - no one will be able to take that away from us even when we die.

If that is what you want to do I say go for it. It is your dream so why ask others if they think it is cool or not. You are the one with the dream live it.
