Trial and error I'm afraid!
My daughter was in the neo natal unit for 2 weeks and I tried lots of different teats, i had that many i could probably stock a shop hehe.
In the end ones that have a slant or a bit flatter that others are easier to suck here is a link to the ones i used in the end hope this is of help to you.

My first child was 2 months prem. I have used sillicone teats on all my kids in the orthadentic style. There is nothing wrong with latex, otherwise hospitals wouldnt use it its just purely a cost thing.
Babies do not get their sucking action till 36 weeks gestation so before that they get feed throyugh the tube up the nose into their stomach until the sucking reflex instinct comes to place. Your little baby will find this hard to adjust to at first it is tiring and hard to get the coordination there, but give it a few days/ a week and they will be fine.

Hi, my son was also 8 weeks preemie, he was in the hospital for 3 weeks, he got out 10 days b4 x-mas last year. Anyway, we have used latex nipples and find them much easier. We also prefer the latex pacifiers over silicone (he tends to spit them out). If I could go back and do it over though, I would have stuck the the breastfeeding. I pumped the whole time he was in the hospital and for about two weeks after he came home, so I could breastfeed, but he was having a hard time with latching, and I was tired so i gave it up. Then he had some really bad problems digesting the formula, and ended up with irritable bowl syndrome. I am thinking about switching him to homo milk in the next couple of months and this is scary. Anyway, if you could I would really consider breastfeeding! Good Luck!

If I were you, I wouldn't use the latex. You can develop an allergy over time while exposed to it. More and more people are becomming allergic to this. I used silicone for my preemie son and he did fine. Nursing really should be the very first option, if at all possible. As always, you should direct all questions to either a nurse or a doctor.

i could seek for suggestion from a pediatrician to make particular no longer something is heavily incorrect because of the unexpected replace yet meanwhile the infant is the right age to do without bottles and could savor being a brilliant boy/lady and using a sippy cup or genuine cup with assistance. a number of my little ones have been nonetheless nursing once or twice an afternoon at this age yet took a cup at nutrients and one give up altogether at 10 months. I basically switched to cups somewhat of doing bottles. If the infant takes the cup fantastic than medically there is probalby no longer something incorrect as long as they're eating nicely too.

Why is she on a teat if she is having problems sucking? Have you tried alternatives to bottles such as cup feeding or finger feeding? That might work out better for such a premature infant, at least for short term. She'll learn to suck eventually, nearly all babies do.

I would think give the baby something softer to chew on so I would give it silicone teats on the bottle
