The top tank remains full and appears to be in good working order but the bowl drains empty in about 15 minutes. The floor is dry around the toilet.

Sounds like a crack in the porcelain "snake head" that forms the drain. New toiddy time.

Hello Dennis,
Mine did that same thing. It has a small (about the size of a nickel) hole where water from the tank helps flush stuff down the main drain hole. I plugged that small hole with a piece of cork from a wine bottle. The toilet still flushes ok, but the leaking stopped. An internal crack in the porcelain was allowing the leak. Try the cork... Good luck!

It might be the o-seal around the bottom of the toilet, but try this first (especially if it isn't a new toilet and/or hasn't been disturbed (bumped hard) recently)

You could have a leak around the flapper valve (the round rubber flap that covers the inside tank's dump hole and opens when you flush). It'll warp over time and let water leak out. It's inexpensive and you can buy them anywhere with plumbiing supplies (one size fits all).

It's the toilet. I had the same problem. Luckily the toilet was under warranty as part of the new home and the plumber replaced the whole toilet.
He said it has to do with the defective toilet not draining properly.

it sounds like you have a seal that needs to be reset. Either the tank or at the base. A plumber can reset your toilet for about $35, or you can buy new wax ring and toilet tank seal for about $2 each and do it yourself. If you are not mechanically inclined however, doing it yourself can cause a worse leak and cost you a bunch to fix. Good Luck

Same thing happened to mine. I had to call a plumber- It cost 235$ for him to replace the whole inside of my toilet, apparently that is what was broken. it works like a dream now.
