Celebrities are nothing special to me. I would be more likely to buy from a company if they took all that money they pay to celeb spokespeople and used it for charitable causes instead.

most people will answer "of course not!" but marketing is much more in-depth than "will people buy this if a celebrity endorses it?"
it's not so much the celebrity as what the celebrity represents (fame, youth, etc). and the reaction is not necessarily immediate: you may see a commercial and think nothing of it, but when you're in the store, looking at the product, you associate the product with beauty or cleanliness or whatever the commercial wants you to associate with it, without even realizing why.

Not at all. i go out of my way not to buy a product if I find their marketing to be too cynical. Also I will purposefully avoid shops that do special offers. The only special offer I want is for you to sell me the goods at the lowest price possible. Cheesy gimmicks are a waste of money and I am the one who ends up paying in higher prices.

It is extremely rare when I buy something based on advertising.
Especially celebrity advertising.
I research the options and then always buy quality.
Who buys a car based on the commercials? Not me !

NEVER. They are just like us and it saddens me that people think that they are better then everyone and espically when someone wastes money on somthing just becuase a person who is on television or magazines gets paid to say that they use it.
I've been on TV, in a movie and in magazines, and no one cares what I use. I wouldnt want someone to.

I've never really thought about it before, but I think that you are right. The comercials are somtimes fun to watch, but it doesn't make me want the item any more or less.

Overwhelming just the opposite, so rarely buy name brand. It seems dumb to pay for something you know is contrived.
