some jocks are just total rude, arrogent, shallow jerks...
i'm not trying to be mean, or stereotyping
but here's my question.
so in movies, a lot of times, there's a jock, then many years later (at a high school reunion or something) you see him, and he's got a pot belly, he doesn't look so great, he doesn't have a good job, and his life pretty much sucks.
so does that happen in real life?
jocks get their glory in high school, but what happens after that?
thanks for answering.

You do realize that in the 'real world' the Jersey Shore guys are not popular or admired but mercilessly mocked and looked down upon, right? They are national jokes. No, what you are like in high school does not determine who or what you will be in life. Once you go away to college you will probably break out of your shell some, talk to girls, etc. You just need to find what you are interested and want to do FOR YOURSELF (and not just because it's what the 'popular kids' do) and become comfortable with that instead of trying to be something/someone that you're not.

A lot of those types that I went to high school with gave up on sports as soon as school was over. Most of the ones I knew went on to college and actually made something of themselves. But the stereotype that their life sucks after high school I suppose is true, many other athletes in other graduating classes have ended up strung out on drugs or bussing tables. So yeah, I'd say it is definitely at least somewhat accurate.

After high school football is over they have no one to get hand-outs from and end up working at McDonald's.

If they can't make it to a college team, then hope they like flipping burgers. girls like them in high school but fail to see that the geeks they so despise will be the best bread winners, funny isn't it.
