% profit = ($5.84-$3.92) / $3.92 * 100 = 48.9796%

I assume you mean mark up. To find the profit, we need to know all her expenses (rent, utilities, etc)

the difference between selling price & cost is $5.84-$3.92=$1.92
the % profit is $1.92/$3.92*100%=49%

First find out the $ amount of profit she makes:
5.84-3.92 = 1.92

now take the $ amount of profit and divide it by how much she sells the pizza for:
1.92/5.84 = .3287

she makes 32.9% profit

PS a lot of people are wrong!!! you have to divide it by how much people pay for the pizza to find out how much of the money comes in is the profit, not how much she pays per pizza!!!

$1.92 is what you're looking for but it isn't the actual answer. You have to figure in the cost of electricity, rent, insurance, help salaries etc.
