dancing is a sport!!!!!!!!!! do you know how hard you have to work? you have to workout just like in football or any other sport. you have to lift wights, run and if your really into it watch what you eat. you have to practice like 3 times a week ( depending on what dance studio you go to. ) i have a " ? " for people who say dancing is not a sport. if its not a sport what is it? sure in sports you compete against a team but in dance you competee with individuals. lets say there is a solo part you want you have to compet with other dancers to get it right?

Like many activities, it can be a sport, or a recreation.

If it is in any way, shape or form performed in a contest, where a particpant is being judged against others, it is indeed a sport. It already gets high marks for criteria like coordination, balance, endurance, and stamina.

Dance is not that far off of gymastics, clearly a sport for many of the same reasons...

Now, if this is you doing the funky chicken at a wedding, then no, it's a recreational activity.

It is definately something that I cant do. You have to practice and be dedicated to do it. So I guess it is. If curling can be called a sport, than dancing is a sport.

dancing is a sport because it requires good physical condition and you have to be willing to learn the dance steps and also because you have to be strong and flexible. all of those describe some type of sport and dancing describes them all.....

Ballet requires a lot of stamina and athletic skills. In fact, one of football's greatest running back, Walter Payton of the Chicago Bears, took ballet lessons to improve his mobility on the football field.
