Under the arm is the worst place for anything to be. An ingrown hair can just kill.
I've gotta tell ya, it's too late now to say how much it hurt while they were lancing it. You should have made them STOP if you could feel it.
The best thing for you to do at this point is to make sure you put warm compresses on it and do this often. I hope you left the office with an antibiotic cream and an antibiotic to take orally. If not, you need to call the doctor back and request one. Tell them you have a temperature and the lanced area is warm or hot to touch.
Take some motrin for the swelling and the pain.
Keep your arm elevated so the skin is not rubbing together. I know you'll look crazy doing it but you need to prevent this area from further irritation. It's probably going to excrete some fluid, serous or the remaining pus that was in it so you may want to keep it covered with some gauze. When you take the gauze off make sure you wet the gauze so that it doesn't pull the wound open again. I hope this helps you.

A boil is an infection. Did they start you on any antibiotics? They should have if they didn't you need to go to the doctor. The infection is usually caused by staphylococcus and needs to be treated with antibiotics. This infection can enter the blood stream and lymphatic system and can make you very sick and possibly fatal. This is not something to mess around with. Go to the doctor. I am a registered nurse and do know what I am talking about. I hope this helps you.

You were probably shaking bad because of adrenaline. It's just a response your body has. I don't know why you are feeling bad now, though. It's probably jusy a coincidence and you are coming down with something. The place you had your boil will probably be sore for a few days.

I hope you feel better. My 11yo son has a boil on the back of his leg. Im trying to treat it with hot compresses to get it to drain. I feel for you. Good luck and we will say a prayer for you to feel better.

You might need to go back to the ER. If you have a fever at all, infection may be spreading in your bloodstream.
