It is a very small company, 3 employees and they hardly have any customers.

The government will eventually catch up with the employer if he is not submitting the deductions. There will be an audit and he will be ordered to pay the money within a certain amount of time. You will also have a record on your paystub the amount of money that has been deducted. Call Revenue Canada if you are not sure that the money is being paid to the government.

You can contact CPP and EI and ask if your contributions have been documented. I don't think an employer would risk taking these things off of your cheque and not submitting them. Of course your T4 will tell the story, but if you are unsure, there are ways to check. If you doubt your employer that much, I think I would be looking for a new job.

if you don't trust them
either you're paranoid or need to get another job
on what basis are you suspicious that they might not be paying?
ASK YOURSELF THAT
if it's based on inhouse gossip unless you have reasonable grounds to substansiate it,get a new set of workmates
maybe someone in the company has a gripe against the company and are stirring things up

Check you T-4 at years end. This will show you how much you've paid into each.
