One of the tricks I use when I go on interviews is to ask "what are the next steps?" If they say they will call me back in a certain time period, I usually follow that up with "So, if I don't hear back within that timeframe should I assume that you have selected another candidate?"
If they don't tell me who/how/if I will be notified, I ask if I should follow up with anyone, or will someone follow up with me. If I am out looking and interviewing elsewhere, I phrase the question like this "Can you tell me what the next steps are? I am actively interviewing right now and have several opportunities on the table. If you could call me back within a week or so, it would really help as I speak with other potential employers. I was really impressed with so-and-so (the person you just interviewed with) and I would like to consider this position first".
Any of these methods show you are interested, and confident. And neither of those things hurt. Suck it up on this one (do what you are donig now and try not to worry about it), remember this tip for the next one.

You should apply to other jobs while you're waiting for that call. Obviously, if you don't get a call, then they're not interested. Therefore, you should focus on other positions and eventually, one company will give you a call. Don't sit there and wait. Be proactive. If you're really interested in this position, you should send the interviewer a thank you card.

You know thats a great question. I'm waiting for a responce right now and I'm going nuts myself. I try not to think about it but I just can't help myself. Overall I just try to keep myself busy, either go work out, go out with friends, or just get out of the house. I notice I tend to think a lot about it when I'm bored so I try distract myself the best I can. I also try to psyche myself out by focusing on the positive aspects of my job interview. I understand your pain and I hope you did well on your job interview!!! I just went on an interview for my dream job so I hope I get it.

Once you have had the interview forget about the job and keep looking. Tell yourself there is something better out there for you.
If the job is offerred that you can self talk to yourself about it as the best.

Not easy....I think of answers to questions I might encounter in a Secondary interview. They may ask to interview you again...fill out another application...submit another resume...lots of things or just say report for a physical to: think about other than getting a case of the NERVES...
