A banana gets darker in the fridge than on the counter, why does it do that?

Banana's go bad faster in the frig. They need to be in a warm humid environment. Rule of thumb: If the fruit is grown below the equator leave it out of the refrigerator.

Note: Most banana's you buy at the grocery store are grown in Latin America Countries like Colombia, Ecuador (while Colombia is not below the Equator it is near it so the fruits that come from this area need to be stored in similar environment to keep them from going bad fast.

Because in the fridge there is less light or light is blocked. So the banana cannot reflect as many lights and not at all, so it will be darker.
