Not sure if there was a question there, but as with any answer I give, I can only speak for me. I lost interest in collecting points after I was awarded five best answers in a row in one day. Not bragging, but it actually felt kinda good to have given a serious answer, based on personal experience (my own) and saw that it was able to help someone, even a stranger.
After that, I stopped "just answering for points." I would read the questiosn, find one that interested me, read it to see if I could offer insight to their situation and chose to answer.
There are some that get joking answers simpley because their questions are meant to illicit such a response.
So, from my side, I simply offer an opinion. Do with it what you will. I only hope I can give an honest answer that is helpful when that it was is asked for.
The Dude.

I think answers should either be an honest attempt to provide useful information or humorous.
The information should come from something reliable like personal experience or known reference material. Humor is okay because laughter is good medicine.
Garbage should not be included in answers. Constitutional rights to freedom of speech do not exist in private forums. The Bill of Rights are restrictions on the government, i.e. only the government can violate the Bill of rights.

people should feel free to be sarcastic or funny, but refrain from condemning the asker with stereotyping assumptions or name calling and consider that maybe an ignorant person is trying to understand or assess a situation for themselves and is entitled to his or her own different opininons and should recieve the same dignity, you expect to be treated with
also remember people may give non offensive answers, but you wont like or want to hear what they have to say, and askers should refrain from asking questions ,that are begging for validation or agreement, if a contrary answer is going to piss them off, cause this site is yahoo answers ,not yahoo tell me what I want to hear.

I usually only respond to the ones with cute faces emphasized with hot, red lipstick. The only score I'm interested in exists behind her unzipped zipper.
If she's not a she and really a fat, repugnant prisoner from jail. I'll go in a corner and cry: "why God? Why Me!"
