I am on Meliane (BC pill). I have 14 pills to finish the 21 pill pack, that means I should be ovulating tonight or tomorrow more or less. If I have sex with my bf tonight, despite being on the pill and I am ovulating, is there a chance I can get pregnant or taking the bc pills prevents u from getting pregnant at ANY time during the month? thanks!

MOST birth control pills stop you from ovulating altogether. If you are taking your pill as directed it is effective all month, however there is always that 2% failure rate.

When in doubt, use a condom!

There is ALWAYS a chance you can get pregnant, as long as you are having sex.

The chances are very slim, however, if you're taking BC pills. and taking them properly Best to use condoms with spermicide along with the pill to protect you from disease and also to prevent pregnancy.

Usually you have to take the pill for a full cycle (a whole month) for them to provide protection, so if you just started the pill, read the instructions, because I don't think you're protected yet.

Also, the pill works ONLY if you take it every single day religiously, without fail, at the same time every single day. If you miss a dose, you are no longer protected and should use an alternate method of BC for the rest of your cycle.

Ok. Technically, it is possible to get pregnant while you are on birth control. So the short answer is "yes, you could get pregnant". There are ways of increasing the efficiency of bc pills, such as making sure you take them at EXACTLY the same time every day, that you don't take herbal supplements which can interfere with how they work... You really sound like you need to have a discussion with your doctor about this. It is horrifying to me that you don't know this stuff, and yet you are having sex. To be safe, you could always use a condom, in addition to the pills.

You don't ovulate at all when taking birth control, or you are not supposed to anyway. Always use condoms as well, for extra protection since the pill is not fool proof. Also, talk to your doc any about meds (things like antibiotics can make the pill ineffective) you are taking to make sure they will not change the effectiveness of your pill.

Also, most birth controls are not fully effective until the 2ND month you are taking it. But it is not 100%, I know a ton of women who became pregnant on birth control.

The pill works by preventing ovulation. Unless this is your first cycle on the pill, you are protected at all times during your cycle. Maximize the pill's effectiveness by taking it at the same time every day. Taken properly, the failure rate is less than 1%.

There is always that .1% chance of getting pregnant if you're on the pill. Other than that I don't think you ovulating would affect it because regardless you are on the pill. If you ask me, the safest sex is NO SEX! If you practiced abstinence then you wouldn't have this problem.

in case you're taking your tablet on time daily and don't omit any your probabilities of having pregnant are VERY low, yet no approach of birth control is ever one hundred% without danger. Like in my case exchange into on delivery administration for years - the mini tablet for 15 months and then have been given pregnant on it. So collectively as that's a fantastically secure guess you will not finally end up pregnant some people do.

Birth Control can fail at any time, all doctors will tell you it is never a good idea to use just BC as a pregnancy prevention.

My friend got pregnant on Birth Contol and she is going to be a first time mom in January and is having twins..Whenever you get pregnant on BC your chances of having multiples is high,

I can name many people that have got pregnant on BC and some of them did end up having twins.

birth control pills aren't 100% safe.there is still a chance of getting pregnant, although this percentage is very low. also keep in mind the pill doen't protect against STD's and STI's. so it's all up to you.

You really don't ovulate while on the pill. That is how it protects from pregnancy.
