I think you should just wait until you get more clues and for those who seem to think you are going to Hawaii, seriously think about what you just wrote. A stepdad taking a 14 to Hawaii for her birthday when they live in New York where there are plenty of islands there. She did write "a long drive" not a long flight. Jeez you people are a little drunk or stupid.

ik becaus when I went there, there was always some where fun to drive and the locals always throw the best partes with the best singers on the islands.
But if I'm wrong it's probably better to be surprised than to know ahead of time & if I'm right act surprized anyway cawz you don't want to upset a possible stepdad who is cool enough to get you a vacation 4 yer b-day before he even knows 4 sure if he's gonna be around awhile or not.Oh and happy b-day I hpoe you enjoy your island getaway.

Those clues contradict each other. Long drive and island, lol. That limits it right there, but in order to solve this question we need a state or location which the starting point would be. But hey its a gift, just chill and get surprised.
