Anti-depressants differ in how dangerous they are in overdose.
Many of the older anti-depressants, such as Lentizol (Triptafen), clomipramine (Analfranil) and dothiepin (Prothiaden), can be dangerous if you take too many, particularly if you take them with other drugs, including alcohol.
The newer anti-depressants, particularly the selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRIs, which include fluoxetine (Prozac), paroxetine (Seroxat), sertraline (Lustral) and citalopram (Cipramil), are much less dangerous in overdose and they have fewer troubling side-effects.
An overdose od SSRIs may cause nausea, vomiting, tremors, seizures, agitation, drowsiness, hyperactivity, and enlarged pupils.

I have seen overdoses of antidepressives. The patient first became highly excited running naked around the house and tearing up things. Then, she became comatose and was out for two days on intravenous drip.
