Divide Iraq into three sections that would be like the 50 states in the USA but only 3 states in Iraq. Each of these 3 states would have their own governments which would be less than the Iraqi central government much like the USA federal government. The 3 states would each have their own law enforcement forces but the central government would control the army and navy. The 3 states would each, basically consist of the Shiites, Sunnis, and Kurds as the majority. The oil revenues would be divided according to states and central government. All militias would be banned.

I believe that President Bush and Staff did make a hasty decision in Swarming off to Iraq like a ticked off hive of Hornets. And do believe he was appealing to his father that the correct response was to invade. George JR. made opportunity of open window to attack, That does not matter now. (I will always support our troops, but not the reasoning for them being there)
George W has need to constructively think of a modest pull out. In order to gain any support from the American public and to help the Republican platform(not meant to be an endorsement) in swallowing his pride and come to the correct decision that a modest pullout will be beneficial for all involved(except the damned Military Industrial Complex) I think that process is in the works now as I hear that the troops are(or should) make a last bloody swipe take back lost ground and securing it against insurgents from the outside with fortified outposts. Then do the same within using Intel of where cell groups are located, let the Iraqis put the terrorists in jail for the rest of their lives(hard time)and not to kill them as then they will have died a martyr serving their god. More easily said than done. Once this last campaign is completed, The harsh truth of our departure and the freedom of Iraq's people will be in their hands. and in us giving them the training and tools to secure their land. However it is important to realize that in the shortcome the success and duration of their freedom will come from the tenacity and will of that people. In truth the outcome would be fruitless and we will have to just live with that and just stay out of that mess over there forevermore.

1) All NATO nations close down their military training facilities for six months.

2) Use those facilities to train 200,000 Iraqi soldiers. Make units up of people from diverse regions and faiths. Force them to work together. Kick out any that aren't able to get along.

3) Send the rest of the 200,000 back to Iraq. Bring our 150,000 home. Leave our equipment behind for the New Iraqi Army that we just trained.

4) Re-arm our troops and send them into Afghanistan and Pakistan and make sure OBL doesn't get a night's sleep for the rest of his (hopefully short) life.

5) Develop surgical strike teams for the future, whose job is to find specific individuals and capture or kill them. Keep cutting the head off the snake.

It should be finished. All the american people has a duty regarding human peace... if You want that stupid and tricky war to stop, then you should ask your mister presidrent to stop it... Collect signatures, send an open letter, get togheter, raise up, FIGHT IT!!! Think of all american people that has been cheated, been told it was because of terrorism and security of the whole world... C'mon, oil and market expansion has to ring a bell, also Puppet prime ministers.. that's a great deal for a rich country.
Do anything but do it. People shouldn't be afraid of the goverments. It's supposed to be by the opposite. You have the power... don't believe the power of a president can do more than people's... It's given to him by you...
Good luck and give peace a chance, would you?

It involves going back in a time machine and doing exactly nothing re. Iraq in 1990 when they took over the poxy province of Kuwait, so we'd have paid a few cents more for energy during the 90's and Clinton's tenure wouldn't have looked as good; Saddam ran a pretty good nightmare compared to us.

Nice try, Lauren. We have to make sure the Iraqis can stabilize things over there on their own. This means the USA will have a presence in Iraq for a long time to come, hate to say.

Make george Bush actually serve in the military, on the front line, with inadequate body armor, and a jeep only.

Take the batteries out of his Walkie--Talkie, after telling him that his mission is to find Osama bin Laden and destroy the Al--Kaida.

Send the rest of the troops home. They've suffered enough. If GW wants this war bad enough, to "stay the course", he should have no qualms about fighting all alone.

Win.

Stay long enough to convince the Iraqis to root out and kill Al-Qaeda, make the kinds of concessions that will cause the Sunnis to throw in the towel, and then settle down to a long period of pulling the country closer together (at this point, how close that will turn out to be is open to debate).

Yes you go block by block city by city and you train police and move on. you train military and move on. Once the country has been all trained up in a methodical way you leave if they are still bombing people then guess what its a civil matter that the usa dont need to be involved in.

I dont think so. The tribes there have been at war forever.War is also just a way of life for some people. I think no matter what country comes in they will still fight. Fight the people who come in to their country or fight amongst themselves.
