This is a difficult question for many people. Learning that a loved one is gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender can be a challenge if you feel it is at odds with your faith tradition. However, being GLBT does not impact a person's ability to be moral and spiritual any more than being heterosexual does. Many GLBT people are religious and active in their own faith communities. It is up to you to explore, question and make choices in order to reconcile religion with homosexuality and gender variance. For some this means working for change within their faith community, and for others it means leaving it. There are many resources to help you in this journey.

1) It DOES have a inherited component, so it's part of nature, not a perversion.
2) If you are christian, then please note, nowhere in the 10 commandments does it say sexual orientation is a sin (adultery is
the only sexually related item in the list...or maybe covet a little).
The old testament rules of Moses in Leviticus were done away after Christ.
3) If you look at new testament, then the only one really down on it is Paul, and Paul was writing letters to specific people at specific times. Also, if we all did as Paul suggested, the human race would all be celibate and would die out.
4) Jesus was loving, accepting, and said we are not to judge, start from there and let go of people's interpretation of the subject.

you didn't say what your faith was, but if your christian actually read the bible. the passage that people use in leviticus to condemn homosexuality is ridiculous, it also says eating shrimp is an abomination as is planting two crops in one field or wearing 2 fabrics at the same time.most so-called christians have never actually read and studied the bible, its a beautiful book, but dont rely on others interpretations connect to your faith and know that there are no mistakes we're all made in Gods image , there's also a gay marraige in the bible, but i'll let you find it for yourself..................blessings

Well what’s the alternative? Have nothing to do with the person? Treat them badly?
You love your family member. Be there for him or her. This person is family!
If you are really struggling with this, take it to God in prayer. I am sure he will show you how to love.

God says, there are many roads to me and not all religions harbor the same misgivings or hatered towards same sex relationships. God says, think about changing your religion, I will still be here either way!

your loved ones preferences should not be your concern.
"judge not lest thee be judged"
love is unconditional. leave the judgement and reconciliation to God.
