Okay, I have a huge problem.
My best friend at my school smokes.
Although she's never mentioned it, whenever I hug her or something, I can smell it on her.
Only me and a few other people know, though the teacher's not one of them.
I REALLY concerned about her, but I don't know how I should even bring up the subject without her hating me.

Just tell her that you know she smokes because you can smell it. You can't MAKE her quit if she doesn't want to.

Bringing in personal experiences always help. Have your parents ever smoked? Being a child of a parent who did smoke for only a short while and now has heart problems, has been difficult from open heart surgery to strokes. People don't think about their futures, but if she will not think of her own, maybe she will be concerned for the possible lives that she does not know she is affecting ( future children). Or just tell her that the smell makes you nausious and you don't like it, without specifically saying it about her. Just another person who happens to be smoking around you at the time. You will be surprised what expressing your own personal feelings about smoking can do, it changed my friends lives!

concerned about her health? Then just tell her, exactly the way you told us. I don't want you to hate me for this, I wouldn't ever want to hurt your feelings, but as your friend, I'm very worried about your smoking. Come from a friendly, concerned viewpoint (be careful not to have a authoritative tone) and she won't take offense to it at all. She may ignore what you say or put it off (people quit smoking when they're ready and unfortunately not before) but I don't see how she could hate you for it.

Could be she sits around with her parents who smoke. If she is your best friend you should be able to discuss this.
