I think the media get a gutter reputation from the lies they print, the various stories about people's sex lives and the general public manipulation the carry out daily. To object to the term battle of britain being used is just political correctness to the extreme if you ask me. Next we will have to remove the no bombing signs in swimming pools in case it offends anyone.
Whats wrong with using the term, with a bit of luck it will keep in the minds of people more where the phrase originally came from. Im yet to see a group of ex Raf pilots campaigning outside a football match so i think you might be in a minority...

do no longer comprehend if it may advance absolutely everyone's sport, yet homestead Internationals could nicely be restored for years while there are not any significant tournaments. England won't fancy it nonetheless, because of the fact they bear in mind all too nicely that jointly as they have been getting worse and below attaining the different homestead countries have the two been retaining their standards or, in terms of Scotland, beating international Cup finalists homestead and away, and that they gained't choose Scotland coming south and stuffing their enormously paid superstars... back. Wembley's a happy searching floor for Scotland. Oh, and that i kinda fancy some Wembley turf for my backyard... :)

Remember William Wallace?
Well, that is one reason why. They fought for independence, they didn't get it. So now, they pretty much hate England. It was pretty much a civil war, hence the term, Battle of Britain (England and Scotland are both apart of Britain, now called the United Kingdom).

Media needs things to hype about and sports is perfect for boosting sales. Especially clashing two British nations is always a good selling point and they need a dramatic name to enhance the situation. You getting annoyed would please them to no end as it's more free publicity.
