Epiphone makes very nice guitars in that price range, also Harmony, and Global

Fender's Squire Line is pretty good.

Have you checked the Pawn Shops and stores that sell used Guitars??? You can get a great guitar at half price or less that way sometimes. It's definately worth a trip around town to browse.

Epiphone les Paul is probably the best one you could get,, this would be second hand. Happy strumming.
