The answer is yes. Tasers are an excellent tool for law enforcement, despite the recent media coverage of the dangers of tasers or "taser deaths".
First you have to look at the facts. There has NEVER been a case of a taser device used by law enforcement being the direct cause of the death of an individual. Check the web and look at reputable medical sites about studies done on the effects of a taser. In ALL cases where a person has died after having a taser device used on them there has been a contributing factor. It could be prior medical problems, drug use, alcohol abuse, excited delerium, or one of many other contrinuting factors. Again, check the web for a plethora of research done on this.
The other fact you must consider is that in most police departments, the use of a taser on the "use of force ladder" is put just below leathal force. What most people don't realize is that if an officer didn't have a taser, the most likely result would be physical contact with a suspect. A taser device is designed to be an alternative to physically struggling with a suspect. In other words, instead of getting into a physical fight with a suspect, where any number of injuries can occur to the officer and the suspect, an officer can use the taser and subdue a suspect and gain control of the situation almost instantly, reducing the potential for injury to the officer and the suspect.
Of course, as more departments equip officers with tasers, the more tasers will be used, and the potential for taser related injuries and taser "associated" deaths will rise. In addition to the contributing factors I mentioned earlier that can lead to the injury or death of a person after being tased, there are other factors to consider. What if a fleeing suspect is tased while running and falls to the ground and strikes their head on the pavement? What if a person holding a firearm suddenly discharges the weapon when tased, injuring or killing someone? What if a person who is tasered has a heart attack from the immense stress of a confrentation with police?
The fact is that all of these situations are possible and are likely to happen in isolated situations which will quickly be exploited by the media and plastered all over television and newspapers. However, the simple truth is that taser devices save many more lives than they may contribute to taking, and they are an excellent tool for law enforcement.

I used to be a cop before Tasers were issued. If the suspect refused to comply you had to use manual force. It could get pretty messy, I have been injured and I have injured people under that scenario.
I think the Taser is more humane than beating the crap out of someone. I have not been in law enforcement for awhile, I do not have to use euphemisms anymore.
My bigger fear is that they will use the Taser when the gun is called for, risking injury to themselves or others.

A taser is preferable to them using a gun. If the jerks that get tasered would listen to the police then they wouldn't get tasered in the first place. If you have done nothing wrong and cooperate with the police you have no worries.

Yes I think they should have a non lethal manner to deal with diobedients. I don't know how any one gets killed from them they have no amps just volts. Also a beanbag gun would be effective or rubber balls from a shotgun. I know there is such a thing I have seen this ammo in a catalog. If it is a deadly situation then deadly force should be used not a stun gun.

No, there have been many deaths because of them. Some police may use them for too long a time and kill someone. I would rather be shot in the leg than tazed.

Yes they should be able to taser. If they can carry and use a gun, then certainly they should be able to taser.

Police should be able to defend themselves and others. The liberals out there have done a lot to undermine this. So yes.
