Tahiti is the largest island of French Polynesia, located in the archipelago of Society Islands in the southern Pacific Ocean. Basically, the island of Tahiti is about as far as you can get from anything else, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean between New Zealand, Japan, North & South America.
