No. Most places wont insure you if you have one though, if they do it will be very expensive. You could NOT tell them you have one but if it bit someone you would be @#$%^@.

They can be very aggressive with other animals, and are unpredictable with people. A friend of mine had an Akita, a very aggressive breed, as a boy. And a paper route. He'd take the dog on his paper route. They'd say 'hi" to everybody, and he'd pet the dogs that came by. While he was folding and tossing paper, his Akita was mangling the other dogs. His parents got hit with a huge lawsuit from very hurt, upset pet owners. Now he only has Boxers or Standard Poodles. Two non-aggressive breeds which are affectionate and very smart. Mom's right. Get insurance.

Here in Indiana many home owners insurance will not cover you if you have a pitbull. You need to check you insurance company and see what they say. I have labradors and they are considered "safe" dogs so I don't have to pay more. The agent did tell me that I would have to notify them if I ever got a pitbull.

Yes,it's a fact that pitbulls are dangerous and unpredictable and are known to turn on their owners and small children for no reason. They are genetically predisposed to this type of behaviour.

It depends on what state you live in or even in what city...but if you ask me there is only one insurance policy that works for a pittbull..have it put to sleep.

If you are required to get insurance for this dog....are you sure you need this particular breed? Think of the children?
