the crops rops of India ca be classified on the basis of of the season in which they were sown harvested:-
Rabi
Kharif
1. RABI CROPS :-sown in october and november and harvested in march and april,these are :-wheat,barley,gram,mustard,linseed,rapseed,tobacco,caster etc
2.KHARIF CROPS:-sown in june and julyand harvested in october and november,these are:-rice ,maize,jowar,sugarcane,cotton,sesame,groundnut etc.
Some principle crops are:-
1.sugarcane:-used for making sugar,jaggery and alcohol
2.jute:-the fibre of jute plant is used to make bags,ropes,strings and finet products like: carpets,rugs,linoleum and twine.
3.cotton:-the cotton fibre is used in textile industry and the seed is used for extracting oil.
4.tea:-india is the largest producing country of the world , producing 32percent of the total world's output .
