It depends on your reasons. Just sit them down and be straight and honest. Talk face to face.
It might be better just not to call them anymore or accept their calls. But I don't like that approach.

That is a fantastic and hard question! Here is my try at it....
You might say something like....
I really have enjoyed the time we have spent together, but right now I need to concentrate on myself.
I hope you wont take this the wrong way but, i have noticed that we don't seem to see the same things anymore. I really think I need to step away from our friendship for a while to see if it is just me. Maybe I am changing, I don't know. I do know I don't want to hurt your feelings though. Blah blah blah
Although we have been friends for sometime I think we have grown in different directions and i need to step away and see where my direction leads me.
Think about hw you would want someone to say this to you... only you know what this person is like. You didn't say if it was a male or female you were trying to break away from so it is hard to say it just right...
Good luck, hope everything workes out well for you.

feels like she is a self take up individual, incapable of being a chum. i might basically tell her you would be greater desirable off without her on your life as she brings issues, rigidity and isn't any longer an extremely reliable individual. Be honest and in the present day forward, she would have the ability to in all probability no longer care, blame it on somebody else such as you, yet being honest is often the suitable coverage. She sounds very propose and spiteful, hold close with people who quite care approximately you and placed across positives on your life.

It depends on how long, and how close you are with them. No matter what you do, it will hurt. But, I would just tell the person that you are changing as an individual and you need time to find yourself. Tell him/her that it has nothing to do with them, it is you. Then just stop calling.

I just ignore them slowly without having them realizing that I am ignoring them but more of being busy with life. Then I start to change my number. ^_^

I'd just avoid them and be unavailable - that is probably a good idea with certain people.

Just avoid them and don't return their phone calls. They'll get the point.
