No, once you're a clown, you're a clown for life. However, one can get a little old to handle the physical and mental stressors of working the circus. That's why the Ringling corporation offers such a wonderful pension plan (I would hope) along with a retirement community for senior clowns.

I know you are never to old to ACT like a clown. I am proof of that. Personally clowns scare the beejabbers out of me so I would never attempt to or want to be one BUT to each his own, Boffo!
