Do you think that it is possible for parents to obtain reliable advice.
I mean one book says spank them and another that is child cruelty.
What does the bible say about how to raise a child?

I don't think you should get your parenting advice from any books. If you grew up a decent human being, then do whatever your parents did PLUS what you now know, as an adult, that you would have wanted them to do. if you love and support your kids, and give them a good self esteem, they will turn out all right. for example, my mother never let me explain anything, i just got punished for stuff, and sometimes she was wrong. so i always let my daughter explain herself, which she really appreciates. sometimes she still gets punished, but she knows she can talk to me about stuff. good luck! :)

Yes there are many conflicting opinions on child rearing, you need to remember to raise a child in love no matter what resources you may turn to for advise.
