Tell him if he doesn't stop the fairy is going to come in the night time and bite off his little weeny - that will work and he will be sure to get up and use the bathroom in the night time from now on.

I went thru this same stuff with a step son. I tried everything in the world! finally I just said if you are going to do this , I don't even want to know about it! A big boy he was....he was to strip his bed everyday as he got up. Go straight to the washer , taught him how to work it an all. He was to then get straight into the shower every morning. Start the washer and Then have breakfast. No more aruging about it and I ignored it all. No t.v. and no bending that rule. he knew what was to be done , what the punishment was and by all means stopped it on his own and I was headache free of it! good luck honey

Unfortunately it can take a few more years for some kids to grow out of wetting the bed. Odds are it will probably quit once he gets beyond puberty. Everyone thinks there is some magic solution but the truth is that for a lot of kids this is a growth issue and not something they can just control. Your best bet is to limit their intake of fluids in the evening and teach them to wake up 2 or 3 times a night to go pee...

Stop giving him anything to drink late at night. You can start there. Also it sucks but wake him up in the middle of the night and make him go. Also sometimes children might pee in the bed at that age because something traumatic has happened to them. Maybe they were touched inappropriately, parents seperated, death is the family. It could be a number of reasons. Talk to him about it. Your could also check with the doctor

Oh my gosh! That poor kid. He must feel so horrible about this. First you need to get him to a good doctor to make sure that it is not a physical problem. My daughter had this problem and I had tried EVERYTHING out there.... timers, fluid reduction, punishments, threats, bribes, herbal remedies.. then I find out that she had an immature bladder and a faulty valve in the tube that drains the urine from the kidney to the bladder. She could not help it. She had to have a small procedure and within a few days the problem was gone! Go to a urologist first!

take him to a doctor he may have a medical problem- if not then you will have to help him out- maybe no drinking a certain amount of time before bed time- maybe set the alarm to wake him up a various time during the night to use the bathroom- use your imagination and positive self esteem building- do not berate him with means words

I REMEMBER A LONG TIME AGO THEY USED TO HAVE SOMETHING YOU COULD PUT ON THE MATTRESS UNDER THE SHEET. WHEN THE BOY STARTED TO WET THE BED AN ALARM WOULD GO OFF AND WAKE HIM UP. I AM NOT SURE IF THEY STILL HAVE THIS BUT IT IS WORTH LOOKING INTO. MY BROTHER USED TO WET THE BED AND THIS HELPED HIM STOP. HOPE THIS INFORMATION HELPS YOU.

Its not easy but you can try not letting him have nothing to drink after 7pm, make sure he goes before he goes to bed and if you have too, when you get ready to go to bed wake him up and make sure he goes again. He could just be a very hard sleeper and not realize he has or needs to go.

there are some questions you need to answer:
how often does he go? a LOT during the day?
is he always thirsty?
is he sometimes lathargic for no real reason?
if so.. these are signs of type 1 diabetes.
You need to get him into a dr and have them do a blook glucose check (they just poke his finger and take a drop of blood to do this).
You need to make an appointment TODAY!!!!

1st of all dont make him feel bad about it becuz that dosent get anyone anywhere....You could make him go 2the bathroom before bed time..Maybe somethings bothering him and maybe you should talk 2 him more about life and how everythings going..
Or u could get a rubber sheet set...and even if it's that bad theirs diapers 4kids 9-13 yrs old and it would be better than a stinky bed...best of luck 2 you both!
