The best way you can help is to send her a link to the local bus schedules. There are all kinds of us (yes, I did it) who went thru pregnancy without having a car, and we managed to get to the doctor's office just fine. If she's going to be a parent, she will definitely need to learn some self-dependence, and this will be a good first step.

Hi there~ Every state has a DHR (Dept of Human Resources) Tell her to contact the nearest one... they can help her get on WIC, find a job, and set her up with Medicaid. They also can help get Child support from the father.. I am serious.. try to contact them on Tuesday. (Monday is a federal holiday)

I was a single Mom for a long time.. was in her shoes once.. and DHR helped me out at the time.

Take care... and be there for her!

Yes, have her go to the Salvation Army
They will issue Bus Tokens if you can prove you have a Doctors Appointment

There are lots of programs for women who need help in these types of situations, and it also depends on where your daughter lives. No offense, but it sounds like the father is a dead beat. Shouldn't he be the one looking for the help his pregnant wife/girl-friend needs?

She will have to go to the Department of Social Services for help. They will help her with prenatal care....nutrician....and what ever else she needs to have a healthy baby. Our tax dollars help fund many government programs that will help her. Tell her to inquire at the Dept. of Social Services. I hope this has helped.

She needs to call her county's department of social services so she can get prenatal care and transportation. Just look up her county online.
