Lucid Dreaming allows you to teach yourself so can wake up inside your dreams and do really cool stuff. The first time I flew it just about freaked me out so much that I almost woke myself up.

I guess, I will grant that a brief moment of conscious awareness is possible, but I'm not sure it really is possible to maintain awareness in a dream state, as fantastic as that would be. All the too-amazing New Age claims made about it kind of make it sound like quackery to me. It always sounds to me like people are fooling themselves about it.

In my younger days I tried to accomplish lucid dreaming all the time... works best when you get too much sleep, and often I would wake up because I knew I was dreaming and didn't want to wake up.. something weird about that. Usually flying is where you start, it's a real kick.. but I never had a long lasting experience......

Yes, I have done lucid draming. Usually if I'm having a bad dream, I can pull back, realize it's just a dream, and change it to something better, or just wake myself up.

Sometimes I dream that I am smoking crack in my dreams...it's sort of like a virtual machine in the computer. When I die from smoking crack, it's not problem...only the dream crashes...I can reboot the next night...
Mmmmm...yummy crack...
