It appears curved, but the Earth has a flat surface existing in space curved by the gravitational field existing due to the mass of the Earth.

no its most definitely not a hoax. there are many facts that prove this to be true but ill just give u one example picture being at the ocean, u see a ship coming in the distance, its hard with ships today, but think of those huge sailing ships from history, as u see coming, u first see the tips of the sails, it doesnt all appear at once, this shows that the ship is coming up and around something, not just straight across + technically, if the earth was flat, u should be able to see across the ocean on a clear day, or at least see a lot farther than u actually can

I assume you're joking, but since there really are people who still believe the earth is flat, you never know...

No, the earth is not flat. I have seen the curvature of the earth myself, and you can too (just go up in an airplane above about 20,000 feet). There are numerous other proofs that the earth is round, going all the way back to ancient greece when aristarchus proved the earth was round by a simple experiment using sticks at two different locations whose shadows were measured at the same time.
Not to mention all of the pictures of the spherical earth we have from space...:)

No, the photographs of the earth should be enough to satisfy you. If you want to try it yourself though, consider travelling in the same direction until you arrive back home.

OR attach a camera on a timer to a weather baloon, like some students did last week to take photos of the earth.

OR go to a very high place (skyscraper, mountain) and you can see the curvature of the earth, especially over the sea.

There's definitely a hoax. Apparently it's seeing how many gullible people there are on Yahoo.

Oh, yeh, and Galileo 400 years ago started the hoax and managed to persuade all his astronomy buddies, Kepler, Brahe etc to go along with it, getting poor old Kepler to make up mathematical niceties about planetary motions.

Then they got the next generation of scientists to go along with the hoax, and the next.

Finally, all the astronauts were paid handsome sums of money to fake pictures of the Earth, and to lie about what they saw for the rest of their lives.

That would make a good movie, but would not be very convincing, I fear.

Anyway, you can't be serious, otherwise I would suggest your getting serious psychiatric help.

Simply go to the seaside and look out to sea and you will notice the sky curves. There seems to be a line at the back of the sea, but you will never reach this line. It gets further away as you get closer.
