I awake most mornings about 6am and snooze on and off until I get up at 7am, but between these times I often have sudden body spasms or jolts - usually in my neck or stomach. they are not painful (it's like waking up with a start). I originally thought this could be linked to a couple of glasses of wine I'd had the night before, but it happens regardless of this. I also get some fairly vibrant and vivid dreams during this hour of dozing. Any ideas?

it is called a myoclonic (or hypnic) jerk. it usually happens when falling asleep. but i guess falling back asleep could cause it as well. it affects some people more than others. lucky you!

the link below is very interesting.
